REQUIRED EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s Degree in field that involves business analysis in higher education, such as Higher Education Administration, Economics, Public Administration, Finance, Mathematics, or other similar disciplines.
  • Seven (7) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • Three (3) years of experience as analyst in higher education, including extensive computer skills, including spreadsheets, database, and statistical analysis.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft programs such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS CONSIDERED

  • Master’s degree in a discipline that includes statistical analysis, scientific method, survey research, accounting and budgeting.
  • Experience designing, maintaining and publishing dashboarding tools, such as Tableau.
  • Experience in data coding such as SAS, SPSS, or other similar language, such as SQL.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Office environment/no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide oversight of reporting requirements of budgeting model approved by Provost Office.
  • Develop resource analysis information to assist colleges and departments in achieving efficiencies and equity.
  • Coordinate the timely completion of external reporting of faculty data and related metrics, such as requirements by state and federal governments, Higher Learning Commission (HLC), external agencies and other accrediting bodies, including the Ohio Department of Education, IPEDS, AAUP, and US News and World Report.
  • Ensure that public website and intranet are regularly updated with latest reports and dashboards.
  • Develop long-range plans and strategies to ensure data integrity, accuracy, and comparability across multiple sources of university data.
  • Recommend, implement, and interpret internal rules, policies, procedures, controls, and manage processes to advance service levels and automation, and to improve data quality.
  • Collaborate in Peer Institution Analysis and benchmarking activities via querying state and national databases, such as Delaware Study, National Student Clearinghouse, among others.
  • Serve on various university, division and departmental committees.
  • May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.).
  • Maintain and stay abreast of trends in IR by participating in professional organizations such as the Association of Institutional Research and the National Association of College and University Budget Officers.
