Description:

The Ateneo de Manila University (Ateneo) is one of the leading universities in the Philippines. More than 150 years in existence, the Ateneo has grown into a major Jesuit institution. Officially it became a university in 1959. It offers over 100 academic degree programmes.
Ateneo offers Basic Education (Grade School, Junior and Senior High School). In addition, the Loyola Schools (college) is made up of four schools (Social Sciences; Humanities; Science and Engineering; and Management) that offer graduate and undergraduate degrees, with a total enrolment of about 10,000 students per year. The Ateneo has 4 professional schools located in 3 campuses in Quezon City, Makati City and Pasig City (Business; Government; Law; and Medicine and Public Health), with about 4,000 professional postgraduate students.
It has an array of research centres, 11 of which are recognized as Centres of Excellence by the Philippine Commission on Higher Education. In addition to a European Studies Programme, it has a Centre for Asian Studies that fosters comparative research on East and Southeast Asia.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Graduate of any bachelor’s degree

Responsibilities:

The Admissions Assistant (AA) assists in the implementation of the admissions policies and processes for graduate students. The AA maintains a positive relationship with the prospective students. Directly reports to the Admissions and Financial Aid Officer (AFAO)
Main Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Graduate Admissions
  • Attends to inquiries on the admissions process and addresses any concerns

encountered in a timely manner.

  • Guides and maintains good communication with applicants through all stages of the

admissions process.

  • Keeps abreast of current graduate programs under the academic departments.
  • Reviews applicants’ submitted documents, ensuring completeness and adherence to

requirements.

  • Disseminates applicants’ submitted documents to relevant offices and departments.
  • Schedules applicants for testing, in coordination with the AFAO.
  • Coordinates with academic departments and applicants on application status and

decision, and releases the decision to applicants.

  • Assists in monitoring and enforcing of graduate admissions policies and deadlines
  • Prepares reports pertinent to admission disbursements/reimbursements for

endorsement to the AFAO.

  • Drafts letters concerning admissions.
  1. Registration Support
  • Provides support to the registration process by answering inquiries and directing

applicants to relevant offices.

  • Prepares documents of newly admitted students for transfer to the University

Registrar

  • Assigns student numbers and creates Student Information System (SIS) accounts for

new graduate students.

  1. Admissions Data Management
  • Monitors admissions-related data of assigned accounts.
  • Monitors applications and updates the admissions database, ensuring completeness

and accuracy of information in coordination with the Data and Communications

Manager (DCM) .

  • Collects feedback from internal and external stakeholders.
  1. Performs other duties as may be assigned by the AFAO, Graduate Education Curriculum and
    Programs Head (GECPH) and AVP for Graduate Education
