Athletic Trainer

Overview:
Novant Health is seeking a PRN Athletic Trainer to assist with athletic training coverage of high school, youth and community sporting events.
The Licensed athletic trainer evaluates, plans, directs, documents, and administers programs of athletic training and rehabilitation. Performs supervisory duties and participates in continuing education. Works closely with other disciplines and specialties within the department and facility. Communicates with physician, referral sources, and other clinical staff and coordinates athlete’s schedule, treatment programs, discharge planning, and recommends solutions to athlete care problems.
The Athletic Trainer licensed in the appropriate state, acts under the supervision of a physician and must adhere to the Protocols and guidelines as required by the licensing agency. The protocols must be written in collaboration with the supervising physician and reviewed annually. The athletic trainer will also promote Novant Health through outreach and education for health and wellness in the community.

Qualifications:

• Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, required. Graduate from an accredited athletic training program, required. Graduate Degree, preferred.
• Experience: 2 years, preferred.
• Licensure/Certification: Current AT licensure in appropriate state with the ability to acquire additional state licenses as required. Successfully pass NATA BOC exam, required.
• Additional Skills (required): Excellent Customer Service, Written and Oral Communication, basic computer application skills, and ability to multitask. Hold or ability to hold appropriate state licensure. Hold or ability to hold AHA BLS First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor certification.
• Additional Skills (preferred): Hold or ability to hold CSCS, PES, CES certification(s).
