POSITION SUMMARY

The Athletics Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing reception services and administrative support for the Department of Athletics. The incumbent is expected to work both independently and as a team member to perform a wide variety of administrative support services, all of which contribute to the efficient and professional operation of the department.
Using effective communication, problem-solving and organizational skills, while exercising discretion and confidentiality, this position plays a critical role in the administration of the department’s student-athlete support services and athletic eligibility program.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Two (2) years of post-secondary training, completion of a community college certificate including trades apprenticeships or equivalent.
  • Over Two up to Three Years related experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, desktop publishing, database and other related computer applications, preferably in Microsoft Office and Outlook.
  • Comfortable with virtual meeting software and cloud-based document management.
  • Comfortable learning and using various software programs.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize workloads.
  • Interpersonal/relationship building skills including working with a variety of individuals within and outside of the department.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Great attention to detail.
  • Ability to adapt to rapidly changing priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Experience in a post-secondary athletic environment is an asset.
