Position Summary:
Under the direction of the immediate supervisor, the Athletic Attendant Assistant assists members and ensures orderly and efficient operations at the fitness center and provides/communicates reports to managers of any incidents or issues at Le Parc Gym (New Residence Hall).
Duties:
- Liaison daily with managers to address all situations requiring immediate attention such as no shows or emergency issues requiring immediate interventions.
- Completes and provides daily reports to the Fitness Manager(s) regarding operations, tracking member attendance, and equipment issues.
- Acts as a resource person to patrons proving guidance and knowledge of the proper use of the fitness equipment.
- Assist in providing training of new staff.
- Ensure member safety compliance.
- Providing optimal member engagement and customer service.
- Administer reservations and equipment rentals.
- Ensure proper equipment cleaning.
Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities
- Standard First-Aid (CPR-C) (required).
- Aptitude for customer service.
- Ability to learn quickly and multitask.
- Experience of knowledge working in a fitness center environment is recommended.
Knowledge of French and English: McGill University is an English-language university where day to day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing. The level of English required for this position has been assessed at a level 4 on a scale of 0-4.
