Job Title: Family Law Attorney
Location : Reston, VA
Compensation: $110,000 - $140,000 annually, plus billable hour and origination bonuses
Experience Level: Junior to Mid-Level

ABOUT US:

We are working with a growing regional law firm currently seeking a talented Family Law Attorney . This is an excellent opportunity for both junior and mid-level attorneys looking to advance their careers in a supportive and collaborative environment. The Family Law Attorney will handle a diverse caseload involving divorce, child custody, child support, spousal support, and other family law matters. The ideal candidate will have strong litigation experience and a passion for family law. Junior candidates with at least one year of litigation experience are welcome to apply, as are more experienced attorneys with a background in family law.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Active license to practice law in Virginia.
Junior candidates: At least one year of litigation experience; family law experience is a plus but not required.
Mid-Level candidates: Proven experience in family law practice with a strong understanding of relevant statutes and case law.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion and empathy.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

Represent clients in family law matters, including divorce, custody disputes, child support, and alimony.
Prepare legal documents such as petitions, motions, and affidavits.
Conduct legal research and draft legal memoranda.
Provide sound legal advice and strategy to clients.
Appear in court for hearings, trials, and other legal proceedings.
Negotiate settlements and manage client expectations throughout the legal process.
Collaborate with clients, experts, and colleagues to build strong case strategies.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of family law trends and changes in legislation.
