Description:
We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for an Attorney/Lawyer based in Berwyn, Illinois. The selected candidate will be joining a team that primarily represents public entities, engaging in a wide array of cases. The job function involves litigation, administrative review, and handling workers’ compensation cases among other responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- Prosecute and defend a varied range of cases on behalf of government clients.
- Handle matters in federal and/or state court, demonstrating extensive knowledge of civil litigation.
- Frequently engage with tort, real estate, local prosecutions, and administrative review cases.
- Provide legal counsel on issues arising from contract disputes, civil rights, labor and employment, and employment discrimination.
- Utilize skills and experience in workers’ compensation law to handle related cases.
- Attend proceedings before administrative agencies when required.
- Maintain professional conduct and adherence to core values, promoting a respectful, inclusive, and supportive work environment.
- Manage environmental and construction cases, applying analytical skills and legal expertise.
- Take on injunctive relief cases, demonstrating a keen understanding of the legal implications and potential outcomes.
- Must hold a valid license to practice law in the applicable jurisdiction.
- Proven experience in Worker’s Compensation and Workers Comp Law is essential.
- Prior experience with Worker’s Compensation Claim handling would be highly advantageous.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Civil Litigation laws and regulations.
- Experience working in a Civil Litigation Law Firm is a requirement.
- Must have Civil Litigation Experience with a focus on Workers Compensation cases.
- Capable of conducting thorough legal research, drafting legal documents, and managing client relationships.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective interaction with clients, colleagues, and courts.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to handle complex legal issues.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating commitment and professionalism.
- Willingness to stay updated with current laws, regulations, and advancements related to the legal field.
- Adherence to ethical standards and professional conduct as outlined by the relevant legal authorities.
- Must be detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple cases simultaneously.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to advocate effectively for clients.
