Responsibilities:

EXTEND ROLE

This role is advertised as part of our BBC Extend programme for disabled people. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Journalist, some of the main responsibilities will include the following:

  • Day-to-day running of our social media accounts.
  • You’ll reversion content to make the most of our Audio to reach online audiences.
  • Working alongside our Executive Producer, the wider BBC York team and BBC Yorkshire you’ll aim to drive engagement and growth of referrals from social accounts to BBC products and services, including BBC Sounds.
  • Promote radio station activities and your creative film-making skills will help you to turn the biggest local talking points into content for social media and our broadcast output.
  • You will be the champion of new social media formats like radio studio visualisation and you will need to be a big believer in teamwork because you’ll often be the person colleagues turn to for help - so you should enjoy helping others to develop their digital skills.
  • Using social listening tools to find the issues that matter most to local audiences - and have the creative vision needed to turn them into content audiences love to read, watch and share.
  • You’ll know how to turn daily radio and TV content into engaging social format and you’ll be just as happy creating original digital content using your own skills and experience.
  • To be a team player with ideas of ways we can improve what we do.
