Description:

Peak Technologies is seeking an Audio & Visual Project Manager to join our team in our Mississauga, ON office.
An Audio & Visual Project Manager provides assistance to the Account Executive in servicing and managing all aspects of the build and estimating of custom Audio/Visual and Lighting Solutions. This position is responsible to lead the project team from the start to completion of the project.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree (B. A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university; and 2 – 4 years’ experience as an Audio & Visual Project Manager or similar experience successfully executing projects and programs and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Be able to direct and manage domestic and international vendors in a fast paced multi-tasking environment.
  • Strong conceptual skills
  • Able to read and understand drawings and setup prints.
  • Must be decisive, thorough and accurate with a general understanding of profitable business practices.
  • Be willing to travel domestically and internationally up to 50% to support projects.
  • Able to work with a team.
  • Able to adhere and contribute to processes and tools.
  • Capable of “out of the box” thinking.
  • Domestic and International project management experience.
  • Ability to multi-task.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and create labor schedules.
  • Manage onsite teams including selection of personnel to handle installation and dismantle and may coordinate travel (air, hotel and expense report reimbursement).
  • Provide 24/7 support for all assigned active projects, troubleshoot challenges.
  • Confirms venue elements such as load in procedures, power, loading dock permissions, etc.
  • Negotiate loss and/or damage incidents with respective contractors for reimbursement.
  • Establish and maintain a large, diverse network of contacts in the industry specifically among service contractors and vendors throughout the country.
  • Prepares material lists and project timelines including support for client correspondence and proposals.
  • Collaborates with and directs in-house production and partner vendors.
  • Capable of offering A/V and lighting alternatives.
  • Proactively track and monitor all transportation tasks and provide for alternative solutions in the event of any issues that may arise.
  • Investigate and follow up on any mishandled shipments including damages, lost shipments, etc.
  • Addresses and helps ‘trouble-shoot’ issues that arise with a project, both with the client and/or internal stakeholders.
  • Delivers multiple projects simultaneously while managing timelines, quality and budgets.
  • Observes deadlines, prioritizes workloads and operates under limited time constraints.
  • Coordinates internal production departments to ensure meeting client objectives and budget parameters.
  • Contributes to the corporate Continuous Improvement process.
  • Communicates effectively within Peak and with the clients regarding details of the account.
  • Possesses full understanding of client’s projects.
  • Sources and procures specialty materials and services in conjunction with Procurement.
  • Supports all necessary Peak’s business systems.
  • Able to understand and develop simple drawings and prints for shows/events including signal flow diagrams when necessary.
  • Travels to domestic and international locations when necessary for project site management.
  • Communicates effectively with international partners; able to overcome language and time challenges.
  • Develops project plans; coordinates projects; communicates changes and progress; completes projects on time and budget; Manages project team activities.
