Responsibilities

  • Instruct and oversee fellow A&A staff throughout engagements. Broaden technical knowledge through review of complex client transactions.
  • Prepare and or review financial statements. Complete general audit procedures including coordination of audit closing communications, drafting of client correspondence and resolving open items, etc.
  • Research technical issues using online tools.
  • Review work completed by staff and make recommendations regarding preparation and accuracy.
  • Assist managers and partners in running client engagements from start to finish, which includes planning, executing, directing, completing projects and managing to budget.
  • Ensure complete client satisfaction through open communication, managing and meeting deadlines.
  • Work closely with partners, directors, senior managers, managers, senior associates and associates on client management, professional development and business development activities.
  • Assist with resolving more complex issues.
  • Participate in client meetings. May lead client meetings with some clients.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor associates and interns on audit projects and assess performance of staff for engagement reviews.
  • Attend professional development and continuing education sessions on a regular basis.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

    Desired Credentials

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with a major in accounting.

  • CPA certification or working towards certification required.
  • Experience in an Assurance department of a CPA firm working as a senior associate or performing senior associate responsibilities.
  • Thorough understanding of accounting standards and common audit procedures and techniques
  • Technical knowledge sufficient to supervise others.
  • Technically proficient in Excel, general ledger packages and computerized audit applications.
  • Ability to problem-solve and think both creatively and logically.
  • A demonstrated ability to self-direct and effectively organize, prioritize and manage multiple engagements under tight deadlines.
  • Outstanding leadership, mentoring and interpersonal skills fostering client and staff relationships.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to attract and develop profitable, sustainable client relationships.
