Description:

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION REQUIRED FOR DIRECT SUPPORT WORKERS

  • Hold one of the HSE approved qualification- see below if you don’t hold 1 of the below you will not be shortlisted.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • Level 5 in an appropriately and verified healthcare course.
    Salary Scale: Autism Support Workers: Successful candidates will be in line with June 24’ HSE revised consolidated Care Assistant (Disability Services) salary scale; point 1: €32,199.00 – point 12: €45,484 LSI per annum based on working a 39-hour week.

NEW APPOINTEES TO ANY GRADE START AT THE MINIMUM POINT OF THE SCALE. INCREMENTAL CREDIT WILL BE APPLIED FOR RECOGNISED RELEVANT SERVICE IN IRELAND AND ABROAD (DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH CIRCULAR 2/2011). INCREMENTAL CREDIT IS NORMALLY GRANTED ON APPOINTMENT, IN RESPECT OF PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE IN THE CIVIL SERVICE, LOCAL AUTHORITIES, HEALTH SERVICE AND OTHER PUBLIC SERVICE BODIES AND STATUTORY AGENCIES.

Responsibilities:

  • Support each person to effectively communicate and to ensure they make informed decisions, exercise choice, control and autonomy in their life.
  • Contribute to and monitor outcomes for the person as identified in the personal planning processes.
  • Identify supports and work in partnership with the individual, their family and other supports as outlined within individual plans
  • Have an understanding of creating appropriate Autism specific environments and be aware of and able to work with Positive Behavioural Support Plans.
