EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent in Electro/Mechanical Technology or Automation Engineering Technology from an accredited institution preferred.
  • Preferred candidate would have minimum of 4 years of industrial automation experience

Responsibilities:

PRIMARY PURPOSE

Responsible for all aspects of automation for the entire facility. Assist in implementing automation projects to maximize manufacturing capabilities, efficiencies, and cost effectiveness. Monitor robotic programs and PLC code for inefficiencies and adjust as required. Taking pride in work and attention to detail is key.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Robot Programming of FANUC robots.
  • Basic PLC programming knowledge.
  • Create and modify robotic programs, PLC ladder logic, etc.
  • File organization of all automation equipment programs is a must.
  • Ensures that production goals are met by optimizing equipment and machinery.
  • Responsible for set-up, change overs and process control within established parameter.
  • Assist other engineers and team members with new equipment installation and implementation.
  • Create BOM, part drawings and wire schematics for new projects and existing equipment using suppliers and manufactures in accordance with company policies.
  • Assist with maintaining stock of essential and critical parts needed for automated equipment.
  • Assist with the creation and updating of Eck Industries lock out procedures using the Brady Link 360 software.
  • Maintain continuous system operation by adjusting, repairing, replacing, or modifying automation/robotic system components.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical diagrams including complex automated system drawings. Make any changes that need to be made to those prints in accordance to company policies.
  • Upload programs in the event of program loss or CPU replacement.
  • Record procedures and results, numerical and graphical data, and recommendations for changes in product or method.
  • Document and communicate work performed, project status, etc., with the Automation Engineer(s) and any affected team members.
  • Ability to maintain the highest level of safety, housekeeping, productivity, and quality with minimal supervision.
  • Collaborate and communicate with other team members to complete tasks.
  • Support production operations after hours to ensure that Ecks customer demands are met.
  • Assist with new project development by bending and installing conduit, wiring panels and enclosures. Rebuilding and installing machines, pumps, blowers, and other secondary equipment that is procured.
  • Complete daily inspections on tools and equipment, filling out forms when required to do so.
  • Maintain housekeeping in the work area at the end of each shift.
  • Maintain area per established 6S standards.
