Job Summary
To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add an Automation Engineer located in Alajuela, Costa Rica (Saret Industrial Park).
Reporting to the Test Engineer, the Automation Engineer role involves being responsible of Defining, Developing, Implementing and proliferating Automation projects, providing consultancy as SME.

What a typical day looks like:

• Programming robots for automatic applications and integrate them into manufacturing processes
• Define, Implement, and evaluate projects that improve the manufacturability by Automation applications.
• Simulate mechanical design, from simple automation, custom and full lines automation, to provide visualization and calculate line improvements from implementing solution (CT, UPH, etc.)
• Have the capability to independently or together with other engineering stakeholders identify root causes of failures in the manufacturing process in order to define the best technology.
• High level participation in daily production activities and effective problem solving on daily issues.
• Have contact with suppliers of new technologies and evaluate them to see which one is better for the required application.
• Work on the maturity of the technologies currently deployed.
• Train in new technologies that are of interest for the different application areas within flex.
• Take responsibility for the development or implementation of a project.
• Train local teams on the technologies.
• Able to quote and follow up automation integration: Simple, Custom or entire line for full processes.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

• BA/BS or equivalent work experience.
• Advance knowledge in Robot programing, such as: Epson, Fanuc, Nachi, UR, Omron, or other related
• Advance knowledge in Robot integration to automatic solutions.
• Knowledge in Electronics manufacturing processes.
• Robot simulation for automation application in design stage to prevent risks on delivery.
• Intermediate knowledge in PLC programming.
• Intermediate programming skill with at least one of the following languages: Python, C++ or JavaScript. Similar programming languages will be a good skill to add.
