Automation Engineer (GMP) / Manufacturing MNC

Our Client is in the Manufacturing Industry. Due to their current expansion plan, they are looking for an Automation Engineer to join their team, in hopes of developing the current high performing team. They are located in the West.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain site automation systems, including ABB 800xA, Control Builder, Schneider Quantum, ProWORX 32, and industrial network infrastructure.
• Administer VMware setups, server/workstation configurations, FIX32 database/graphics, MES/DCS/SCADA/PLC systems, label applicators, and ABB robotic palletizer systems.
• Implement automation and control solutions for plant modifications, capital projects, and improvement initiatives in alignment with specifications, budgets, and procedural guidelines.
• Provide expert advice and support for troubleshooting, optimizing processes, and improving systems.
• Ensure compliance with safety and operational standards, maintain inspection readiness, and participate in audit activities as required.
• Lead, mentor, and develop junior staff to enhance their skills and contribute to achieving departmental goals.
• Assist in preparing the section’s annual operating budget to meet operational and strategic objectives.
• Plan and execute maintenance schedules, manage resources during maintenance activities, and address breakdowns effectively, including engaging external expertise when needed.
• Support facility master planning to ensure compliance with engineering standards, address obsolescence, and manage asset replacements.
• Monitor and maintain automation systems to ensure seamless plant operations and minimize production disruptions.
• Address customer complaints and deviations by ensuring timely implementation of corrective engineering actions.

Requirements

• Min degree in the relevant engineering discipline
• Min 3 years of relevant experience in the process/food industry
• PLC experience in ABB 800xA, Scheider or Siemens
• Good understanding of local codes and requirements
