POSITION SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Automation and Software Group, you will develop and improve operations by studying current processes/systems and implementing best-practice technological solutions. You will have the opportunity to work on small to mid-size projects that can include wiring control systems and sensors, software configurations, and other technical areas.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science or similar field
  • Comfortable working in a CNC lathe and mill machine shop setting
  • Ability to keep up with the latest technologies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good personal organizational skills to control productivity
  • Self-driven and results-oriented
  • Microsoft Office proficiency

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • CAD software experience (e.g. Creo, SolidWorks, AutoCAD)
  • Experience/working knowledge of manufacturing processes
  • Knowledge of PLC ladder logic and scripting languages (C#, Java, JavaScript, Python, SQL)
  • Enjoys hands-on breadboarding electronics
  • Interest in robotics and machine learning
  • Experience with data visualization tools

  • Bachelors or better in Engineering

Responsibilities:

  • Produce and update documentation for all projects and new or improved processes
  • Build an understanding of manufacturing processes
  • Provide real-time on-floor technical support to Manufacturing Engineers and end users
  • Research best practices and IIoT capabilities
  • Work hands-on with electronics, sensors, and robotics
  • Troubleshoot automation errors and support as needed
  • Interact with vendors to ensure potential systems meet site requirements
  • Train end users (if any) on new or improved processes
  • Communicate with colleagues / analyze current systems to identify opportunities for automation and optimization
  • Foster a positive safety culture in which no one gets hurt
  • Support the Automation & Software Group with all other required technical needs
    Automation Includes – assembly machines/fixtures, CNC machines, robots, production software, and test equipment. Any other equipment or software identified by A&SG leadership.
