QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
    2-5 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant role.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES & BEHAVIORS

  • Proficient knowledge of process mechanical engineering principles and practices, including sequential and concurrent material flows, safety by design, quality by design, pneumatics, and intelligent actuators and sensors.
  • Proficient knowledge of automated assembly, mechanical process sequential operations design, power (electrical and pneumatic) distribution, mechanical component fabrication, machining, and tolerance verification.
  • Proficient skills in critical thinking / analytical reasoning, including but not limited to applied mathematics corroborations, rationale, decision dependencies, technical critical path, strategic-tactical alignment
  • Proficient skills in systems thinking: conceptual awareness of interdependency, systems analysis, systems engineering.
  • Proficient communication skills: practical, reflective listening; clear, concise, and objective oral and written articulation of responses, ideas, and situations.
  • Proficient skills in project management.
  • Proficient in performing effective time management and organizational and personal capabilities.
  • Proficient in problem-solving cause-and-effect identification, decomposition of primary and contributory causes, and collaborative engagement of trade space alternatives.
  • Proficient in demonstrating collaboration, challenge resolution, communication effectiveness, urgency negotiation, organization priorities, accountability, and work product integrity.
  • Proficient in overseeing small- and medium-scale projects.
  • Ability to perform process engineering skills independently.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ireland or European Based
  • Work from home with travel expected to client facilities as required.
  • Up to 25% international travel.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for leading or acting as a subject matter expert process mechanical engineer
  • Responsible for staying updated on process mechanical engineering trends and emerging technologies.
  • Responsible for Delivery: Design, engineering, implementation, and verification of industry-compliant automated assembly and packaging solutions for integration and validation for production readiness. Design, engineering, and verification of documentation packages.
  • Responsible for Project Leadership: Establish project technical scope, priorities, and execution sequences; align the technical scope with team member skill sets; inform and consult with project, supplier, and acquirer leadership on technical status, challenges, and options to ensure that projects meet objectives for scope, time, and budget.
  • Responsible for Design: Analyze stakeholder needs; identify, negotiate, prioritize, and quantify Solution Architecture and Functional elements. Conducted and documented design reviews in collaboration with team, supplier(s), and acquirer(s).
  • Responsible for Engineering: Identify, negotiate, prioritize, and quantify mechanical and electrical packages and components. Analyze and implement CAD-generated drawings and schematics. Conducted and documentedengineering reviews with the team, supplier(s), and acquirer(s).
  • Responsible for Implementation: Engage and monitor the procurement, fabrication, assembly, and solution integration activities and processes. Provide oversight as appropriate to project agreements. Lead and collaborate on integrating solutions into a production environment.
  • Responsible for Verification: Participate in the execution and review of verification activities. Identify and document process verification items, cases, and scripts. Define, document, and conduct Design of Experiments (DOE).
  • Responsible for Risk Management: Conduct, document, review, and update Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), and Control Plans
  • Responsible for Technical Expertise and Collaboration: Engage, inform, advise, and consult with acquirer, supplier, and solution delivery teams.
  • Responsible for Advocacy: Engage suppliers as active stakeholders on the acquirer’s (client) behalf. Engage and inform acquirer(s) on technical challenges and options.
  • Responsible for Product Design Collaboration: Advise and consult on product design impact for manufacturing, assembly, and packaging.
