AUTOMATION FIELD ENGINEER

Hanbury-Autogil are a rapidly growing machine builder who have been established since 1972. Hanbury-Autogil began as a machine shop which has, over the years, developed a varied portfolio for the manufacture of high-speed automatic guillotines. We have since increased the complexity of our systems, now supporting full line mass production machines from conception, through to design, build and commissioning. Our customers come from wide ranging sectors and include those in battery manufacturing for the EV market, medical, aerospace and packaging. Joining the Autogil team will therefore expose you to an array of projects pertaining to all our markets.

We are currently looking to expand our team and are recruiting for a driven and committed Automation Field Maintenance Engineer. The post is an exciting and dynamic position that would suit someone who is flexible and thrives in a busy environment.
You will share your time between building the machines onsite, supporting existing customers and commissioning / installing new machines. Experience in automation would be an asset. This is a hands-on role which includes mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and engineering maintenance.
You will work closely with other members of the team in a varied role as most of our machines are unique.

ADVANTAGEOUS SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

· Electrical/Mechanical engineering / maintenance experience within industry.
· A background or interest in general automation would be highly beneficial.
· Must have the ability to connect to PLCs and drives to support fault diagnosis (Siemens/Rockwell).
· Strong wiring skills – fully conversant with electrical drawing packs affiliated to automation equipment.
· Good level of experience with pneumatics
· Good level of experience with machine safety systems.
· Happy to travel overseas.
· Full driving license

Responsibilities:

  • Travel to customer sites both in the UK, Europe and further afield to both commission new machines, and perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on existing automated systems and equipment.
  • Utilise mechanical knowledge and CAD skills to interpret schematics and to liaise with the design teams to implement modifications where required
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to enhance system design and functionality.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities and system performance.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards while driving to various field locations.
