How will you make an impact?
As an Automation Integrator you will construct, integrate, and install custom designed automation systems for the pharma and bio-pharma industries in some of the most prestigious research laboratories in the world. You will be part of a team contributing to the successful on-time completion of projects while upholding Thermo Fisher Scientific’s high standards for quality.
What will you do?
- Assembly and testing of electromechanical sub-assemblies
- Construction of system platforms, safety guarding, and containment enclosures
- Integration of sophisticated laboratory instruments for accurate positioning and establishing communications
- Teach movers and multi-axis robots utilizing Thermo Fisher Scientific’s software and validate all pick/place positions for smooth, efficient and repeatable operation of the system
- Support factory and site acceptance testing and promptly help address any deficiencies cited
- Assist in development of technical solutions to meet the customer’s requirements
- Assists in defining and tracking the job build tasks required to successfully complete the project on-time
- Assist in the creation of a detailed schedule specific to the customer’s project when required
- Troubleshoot automated robotic system issues when required
- Manage workload within team and adjust excesses/shortages as required
- Participate in peer training amongst the operations team
- Identify and record changes to Bills of Materials and Work Instructions
- Identify any part non-conformances and assist in the countermeasures
- Contributes to documentation, record keeping, and reporting the project status
- Provide feedback to the Operations and R&D teams to help drive and implement continuous improvement
How will you get here?
Education
Technology diploma in Mechatronics, Electro-mechanical engineering, Electrical or Mechanical engineering, or other related discipline
Experience
- 3 years’ automation integration experience with hands-on teaching & setup of robot arms
- Experience with testing and measuring instruments
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Able to understand and follow mechanical and electrical drawings
- Problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written)
- Flexible team player
- Strong organization, planning and time management skills
- Professional presence both with the customer and internal departments
Other Requirements:
- Valid Driver’s License
- Valid Passport
- Ability to travel globally without restrictions 30-50% of the time
