Description:

A leading Medical Device company is currently seeking an Automation Project Engineer for its Tipperary-based site. You will be working on a site which is uniquely focused on advancing the treatment of vascular disease and improving patient care by combining the latest medical device innovations with world-class pharmaceuticals

Key responsibilities:

  • Design and develop automation systems and processes to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to define project requirements and objectives.
  • Create detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments for proposed automation solutions.
  • Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of automation systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to automation equipment and software.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
  • Provide training and support to end-users on the operation and maintenance of automation systems.
  • Prepare technical documentation, including user manuals, maintenance procedures, and project reports.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in automation technology and industry trends.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in automation engineering, with a proven track record of successful automation projects in the medical device industry
  • Strong knowledge of automation systems, PLC programming, HMI development, and SCADA systems.
  • Proficiency in CAD software and other relevant engineering tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Project management certification (e.g., PMP) is a plus.
