SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:

Specialized knowledge is defined as experience installing and troubleshooting Microsoft Windows 10/11, Outlook, Microsoft Office 365 applications such as Excel, Word, OneDrive, and other commercial off-the-shelf software applications like Adobe Acrobat and Trend Micro Apex One. Experience performing routine hardware maintenance and troubleshooting on computers, monitors, printers, scanners, etc. Basic understanding of audiovisual systems, networking concepts and basic server administration, and experience planning, coordinating, and providing systems training one-on-one, or in groups, is preferred. Basic understanding of PowerShell, Visual Basic, or other programming language is a plus but not required.

The candidate must possess:

  • problem-solving skills; and
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.

EDUCATION

A bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities:

DUTIES

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Respond to help desk calls and emails. Assist with web access. Provide information and assistance to users on applications such as word processing and data entry. Assist with creating user accounts and providing end user training.
  • Create and run reports. Install or assist in the installation of upgrades or new or revised off the shelf/desktop releases. Set up, configure, install, and document hardware and software.
  • Provide support for mobile computing devices and remote access.
  • Provide cabling support.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software problems. Perform basic system support for telephone systems, such as additions, deletions, and moves. Analyze help desk log. Create user accounts. Create local court forms from off-the-shelf software. Customize programs for local needs and trains personnel in their use.
  • Monitor day-to-day operations of the equipment and systems. Act as the technical expert in solving computer system problems.
  • Recommend hardware, equipment, and software updates.
  • Provide and coordinate district-wide information technology training. Analyze, research, and interpret automation training needs for multiple court units and develop training plans. Provide individualized (one-on-one) automation training, instruction, and support, as well as in-person group training.
  • Conduct information technology orientation sessions for new employees.
  • Design, develop, evaluate, and revise training curriculum, materials, written procedures, user guides, and manuals for use with the court’s automation software, applications, and services. Develop and conduct end-user training for commercial off-the-shelf software utilized in the court environment, such as Microsoft 365 products, Teams, Adobe products, etc.
  • Perform as the court’s Information Technology Inventory Officer.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
