Your Role: Automation Technology Consultant
As an Automation Technology Consultant at WMEP, you will be a critical player in helping Wisconsin manufacturers accelerate the adoption of manufacturing automation. Your work will directly contribute to their growth and competitiveness in the global market. Here’s what you’ll be doing:
- Drive Innovation: Utilize our AutomationAdvisor™ Assessment to identify and prioritize automation technologies that deliver the most value to small and mid-sized Wisconsin manufacturers.
- Build Connections: Nurture a network of potential solutions and partners, ensuring that our clients have access to the best automation technologies and services available.
- Create Impact: Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop service solutions that seamlessly integrate automation into broader business strategies, making it easier for manufacturers to implement and benefit from advanced connectivity and automation.
- Integrate Excellence: Work closely with our transformation and operational excellence teams to embed automation solutions into WMEP’s comprehensive service offerings.
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a dynamic professional who brings both technical expertise and a passion for making an impact. The ideal candidate will have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (mechanical, electrical, industrial) or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in manufacturing automation and technology, with a strong understanding of Industry 4.0 concepts. Experience with robotics integration and custom automation equipment is a plus.
- Experience in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing practices.
- At least one year of experience in a customer-facing role, with a proven ability to build strong relationships with clients, technology partners, and colleagues.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly and effectively.
- A creative and analytical mindset, with strong organizational and time management skills.
- A commitment to WMEP’s core values: customer focus, ethics/integrity, teamwork, and results orientation.
