Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring suppliers’ quality performance (supplier scorecards).
  • Managing CARS and SCARS.
  • Managing key suppliers by proactively communicating quality system and product requirements.
  • Managing on-site supplier audits (and supporting supplier QMS records) as required to assure supplier has the ability to meet company quality requirements.
  • Participating in NPI (New Product Implementation) meetings and providing input on concerns/issues with new parts as discovered during preliminary review of parts.
  • Preparing quality documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends, including failed processes, stability studies, recalls, corrective actions, and revalidations.
  • Writing measuring programs for Keyence, Nikon, etc.
  • Measuring parts with calipers and other equipment and having a good understanding of measuring units, especially millimeters and inches.
  • Keeping work instructions updated and generating visual aids as needed.
  • Facilitating disciplined problem solving on quality issues. Ensuring timely resolution of quality defects, corrective actions, and preventative actions by managing small project teams to resolve problems.
  • Analyzing quality issues to identify root causes and implementing corrective action and taking proactive measures, such as developing and implementing continuous improvement programs covering production processes and quality management systems.
  • Facilitating First Article Inspections and submitting reports to customers in a timely manner.
  • Providing guidance and support to the Quality department team members.
  • Engaging in continuous improvement activities.
  • This position may travel up to 5% of the time to customer visits, trainings, other plant locations, etc.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, ideally within a Lean manufacturing environment.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.
  • ISO 2015 and AS9100 certification and/or ASQ certification; CQE certification preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities accurately and efficiently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to write detailed work instructions.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting customer blueprints.
  • xperience with conducting internal audits, implementing corrective actions, and engaging with suppliers and customers.
  • Demonstrated ability to act as a Quality Champion, setting high standards for oneself and others.
  • A mindset geared towards continuous improvement
