Description:

COMPETENCIES AND REQUIREMENTS

  • 5 years’ experience in repair and service in shop and/or in field.
  • Inter Provincial Red Seal Automotive Certification, or Interprovincial Blue Seal for Nunavut is required.
  • Previous experience working in a remote operation with camp accommodation considered an asset.
  • Previous experience in mining or heavy industry is considered an asset.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct diagnostic procedures such as troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing, inspecting, and maintaining mobile mining related support equipment and vehicles;
  • Conduct scheduled maintenance inspections on equipment & vehicles, which could include tire rotations, battery installations, headlight and taillight installations, transmission work/flushes, air conditioner recharges and front-end alignments. Report diagnostics or deficiencies to supervisor. Perform repair on equipment & vehicles as necessary;
  • Document work and repairs performed on equipment and vehicles;
  • Follow site safety protocols with a desire to work cooperatively as part of a team to ensure compliance;
  • Communicate and work with supervisors and planners/site teams to schedule maintenance and inspections of equipment as required;
  • Test, clean, lubricate, and perform routine maintenance of equipment as necessary;
  • Maintain a clean and safe working space; and
  • Ability to provide own tools.
