Description:
We are seeking a part time (0.8 FTE - 28.8 hours pw) Tutor to join our Automotive team based in, Nelson for fixed term of 1 year. Our Automotive team delivers a variety of programmes and work with school students exploring vocational career options, students preparing to enter the trade, and apprentices working in industry. This role will work with our team to deliver a variety of our Automotive Trades Programmes and requires a specialist in Heavy Automotive.
The key responsibilities for the role are:
- Planning, organising, delivering, and assessing course content; this includes theory and practical work, face-to-face and online.
- Assessing and supporting learners toward completion of qualifications.
- Helping learners to plan for, and move into, the next step on their training or career pathway.
- Keeping accurate learner records and completing related administrative work to a high standard.

To be successful in this role you will need:
- Recent practical automotive industry experience, with 10 years’ experience an advantage.
- A National Certificate in Automotive or equivalent.
- Heavy automotive experience.
- Teaching experience is advantageous, but not essential.
- Excellent communication and time management skills.
- Confident user of computer systems.
- A genuine desire to educate and mentor students
