ROLE OVERVIEW
Our client have a unique opportunity for a AV Design Engineer to join their growing Project Delivery team. The AV Design Engineer will be responsible for developing detailed low-level designs for media and Pro AV projects in collaboration with a Solutions Architect and they will own the project throughout its entire lifecycle, from pre-sales engagement through to project sign-off. The role will cover a broad range of project and client types, from stadiums, arenas, and venues, to corporates and consultant-led projects.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work in parallel with a Solutions Architect to develop detailed low-level designs for media and Pro AV projects, ensuring a consultative approach to understanding client requirements.
- Own the project throughout its entire lifecycle, from pre-sales engagement through to project sign-off, maintaining a focus on developing the client’s user journey and workflows.
- Complete all low-level design details, including the BoM, consumables, schematics, wiring diagrams, cable schedules, and functionality statements, with a consultative mindset.
- Be responsible for both the theoretical design and the practical commissioning, testing, and performance verification of the solution on-site, ensuring client needs are met.
- Engage, direct, and ensure completeness and quality when using third parties or vendors to undertake technical services such as system configuration, commissioning, programming, and calibrating, always considering the client’s requirements.
- Engage, direct, and ensure completeness and quality with the internal CAD team who will design all elevations and architectural design drawings, aligning with the customer’s vision.
- Work in strong collaboration with a Solutions Architect who completes the high-level design detail alongside the client, ensuring a consultative approach throughout the process.
Essential Criteria
- Demonstrable experience as a design engineer in a client-facing technologysector, delivering complex & demanding projects.
- Experience with audio/video systems, Enterprise Systems and Large-Scale Video and Audio Solutions (as seen in arenas and venues).
- Ability and skills to diagnose and resolve complex technical, political, and people-related problems.
- A strong technical background in Pro AV engineering, installation, design, and overall knowledge, especially LED walls, is essential.
- A strong focus on understanding, developing, documenting, and delivering the client’s overall user journey, workflow, and outcomes. This role takes a more consultative approach to project delivery.
- Meticulous, technically gifted, and passionate about AV, networking, and wider technology stacks seen and used in the sporting and stadia environment.
- CCNA, CTS-I, CTS-D certifications.
