Aviation Meteorological Services provides the aviation industry with specialised meteorological services contributing to efficient and effective aviation operations within the Australian Flight Information Region and the Asia-Pacific Region.
We are seeking motivated meteorologists to join the Aviation Operations Delivery Team, based in either the Brisbane or Melbourne Aviation Forecasting Centre (AFC) including the Hazardous Weather Unit (HWU).
Products and services while working in the role will vary over time, depending on the skills and experience. Successful applicants working in Melbourne can also gain further experience while providing services and creating products as part of the Hazardous Weather Unit (HWU).
The Aviation Meteorologist role will involve the production and issuance of forecasts and warnings from either the Brisbane or Melbourne AFC, for low-level aviation clients, including forecasts for international airports. The role my also include the requirement to liaise with customers and service partners and provide briefing services to support decision-making.
