Description:
An Airline Aviation Security Regulatory and Training Manager is responsible for ensuring that the airline complies with all relevant security regulations and standards, as well as overseeing the training programs for security personnel and staff.
The Airline Aviation Security Regulatory and Training Manager oversees the development, implementation, and maintenance of the airline’s regulatory compliance and training programs related to aviation security. This position ensures that all security personnel and relevant staff are properly trained, and that the airline adheres to all applicable security regulations and standards. The manager serves as the liaison with regulatory bodies and is responsible for staying updated on the latest regulatory changes and industry best practices.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Develop and maintain the airline’s security policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all applicable aviation security regulations, including those set by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), and other relevant authorities.
- Monitor changes in security regulations and ensure that the airline’s security program is updated accordingly.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies and participate in security audits, inspections, and assessments.
- Training Program Management:
- Design, develop, and implement comprehensive security training programs for all security personnel and relevant staff, including initial and recurrent training.
- Ensure that all training programs meet or exceed regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make improvements as needed.
- Security Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all security training, certifications, and compliance activities.
- Prepare and submit required reports to regulatory agencies and internal stakeholders.
- Risk Assessment and Mitigation:
- Collaborate with other departments to conduct security risk assessments and identify areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement measures to address identified security risks and vulnerabilities.
- Stakeholder Coordination:
- Work closely with airport authorities, law enforcement, and other relevant entities to ensure coordinated security efforts.
- Represent the airline in security meetings, workshops, and industry forums.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging threats, and best practices in aviation security training and regulatory compliance.
- Lead initiatives to enhance the airline’s security posture and training programs.
- Bachelor’s degree in security management, aviation management, education, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in aviation security, regulatory compliance, or a related field, with at least 2 years in a training or managerial role.
- In-depth knowledge of aviation security regulations and standards, including TSA, ICAO, and other relevant authorities.
- Experience in developing and delivering training programs, with a strong understanding of adult learning principles.
10+ years’ experience in similar environment
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Certification in aviation security (e.g., Certified Aviation Security Professional) is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Work Environment:
- The position may require occasional travel to various airports and training facilities.
- The role may involve working outside of normal business hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
