JOB DESCRIPTION

As an Advanced Lead Embedded Software Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing embedded software within the Integrated Vehicle Health Management (IVHM) team. IVHM creates solutions that perform health management for the aircraft.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field from an accredited university.
  • Professional Experience: At least 6 years of experience in embedded software development, with a minimum of 2 years working specifically with DO-178C software development processes and certification standards. Additionally, at least 1 year of experience in C coding is required.
  • Citizenship Requirement: Due to the sensitive nature of the work, which involves U.S. Government contracts, this position is open only to U.S. citizens, with GE requiring proof of status prior to employment.

Responsibilities:

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and Development: Taking a lead role in architecting, designing, and developing embedded software for IVHM products, ensuring adherence to GE’s stringent processes and the DO-178C standard, which is crucial for aviation software safety and certification.
  • Continuous Integration and Testing: Overseeing continuous software integration and testing processes to ensure software quality and reliability.
  • Problem-Solving: Identifying software failures and implementing effective solutions, thereby ensuring the robustness of IVHM solutions.
  • Mentorship: Acting as a mentor and resource for less experienced team members, fostering a culture of learning and growth within the team.

    The base pay range for this position is $105,600.00 - $125,000.00. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. You are also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/ commission based on the plan. This posting is expected to close on 10/01/2024.
