Description:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred. In lieu of a bachelor’s degree 5+ years of lending experience and/ or in underwriting mortgages for sale to FNMA/FHLMC.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to concentrate and perform responsibilities by maintaining a constant state of focus and mental alertness.
  • Ability to communicate in person, through email or via telephone with customers and staff members.
  • Ability to sit or stand for an extended period.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job may include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for the daily operations of the Consumer Loan Department (Instalment and Mortgage) to ensure:

  • Loan documents are prepared for customers correctly and on a timely basis.
  • Loans are closed correctly and in conformance with the bank’s standards.
  • Prepares monthly reports to Consumer Loan Department.
  • Responsible for tickler files and coordinates renewals/extensions of loan support documentation such as insurance policies and tax receipts.
  • Responsible for HMDA reporting on all consumer loans.
  • Responsible for ORE properties in terms of maintaining files, ensuring taxes and insurance are paid.

Accepts loan requests and processes them in accordance with the Bank’s loan policy and lending guidelines:

  • Approves loans with established lending authority.
  • Responsible for collection of loans listed in individual portfolio.

Conducts training as necessary to ensure proper adherence to policy and procedure as it pertains to consumer lending.

Participates in meeting the Consumer Loan Department’s short- and long-term goals and objectives:

  • Attends annual meeting to develop departmental goals.
  • Attends monthly meeting to discuss and evaluate “progress” on meeting goals and objectives.
  • Conducts or attends monthly Employee Relations Meeting.
  • Conducts daily 5-minute meetings with staff.

Performs loan research as needed to clear customer problems and/or program problems.

Responsible for administration of secondary mortgage market sales:

  • Communicates and coordinates efforts and set-up of pertinent information and processes as it relates to the secondary market functions.
  • Acts as information source for general questions.
  • Oversees and controls underwriting quality control and delivery of loans sold in the secondary market.

Acts as secondary back-up to Loan Operations Officer in daily balancing of loans.
Participates in Business Development and Call Program.
Performs other duties as assigned or directed.
