Description:
We are looking for an AWS Security Consultant to join our cloud security team. The role involves providing expert guidance on securing AWS environments, conducting risk assessments, implementing security best practices, and helping the organisation navigate complex security challenges as they scale their cloud infrastructure. You will work closely with key stakeholders, including development, operations, and security teams, to ensure that security is an integral part of the cloud adoption and transformation journey.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess AWS infrastructure for vulnerabilities and risks, providing recommendations for improving security posture.
- Develop and implement tailored cloud security strategies to ensure AWS environments are secure and compliant.
- Advise on AWS security best practices, including IAM, data protection, encryption, and secure network configurations.
- Identify security risks and design mitigation strategies; assist with risk assessments to prioritize improvements.
- Ensure AWS environments meet regulatory standards (e.g., GDPR, PCI-DSS, HIPAA) and advise on compliance implementation.
- Recommend and set up proactive monitoring, logging, and alerting with AWS-native tools (GuardDuty, CloudWatch), and help develop incident response plans.
- Guide clients in automating security controls using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK for secure, repeatable deployments.
- Provide security training to client teams, ensuring ongoing awareness and effective use of AWS security services.
- Work with DevOps, development, and infrastructure teams to integrate security throughout the application lifecycle.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Strong experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, Lambda, RDS), with a focus on securing cloud environments.
- Experience with IAM, encryption, network security, and secure application deployment.
- Familiar with regulatory frameworks (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR, PCI-DSS) and ensuring compliance in AWS environments.
- Ability to identify security risks and recommend mitigations.
- Experience designing incident response strategies and setting up monitoring tools (GuardDuty, CloudWatch, CloudTrail).
- Hands-on experience with AWS security tools (e.g., WAF, Shield, GuardDuty) and vulnerability management solutions.
- Proficient in Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK for automating security processes.
- Strong skills in scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell) to automate security tasks.
- Excellent ability to explain complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical teams.
- Prior experience in a consulting or advisory role, guiding clients on AWS security practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
- AWS Certified Security Specialty, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, CISSP, CISM, or similar.
- Experience securing hybrid or multi-cloud environments.
- Familiarity with securing Docker, Kubernetes, and EKS.
- Experience with CSPM tools (Prisma Cloud, CloudHealth) for security posture management.
- Expertise in designing secure VPCs, managing VPNs, and implementing secure networking in AWS.
