Business Unit Overview
This position is part of Novanta’s Corporate and Shared Services global team. Novanta’s Corporate and Shared Services teams play an important role in executing the company’s strategic mission and operations. Included in Corporate and Shared Services are the business functions including Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, Information Technology, Legal, Compliance, Corporate Development and Corporate Marketing. The Corporate and Shared Services teams work closely with all Novanta business units to support operating initiatives contributing to the organization’s financial success.
Job Summary
As an Azure Infrastructure Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and managing the core cloud infrastructure within the Novanta Azure environment. Your expertise will contribute to the successful deployment and maintenance of cloud-based solutions. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, ensuring that the foundational elements supporting cloud applications and services are robust, secure, and scalable.
Responsibilities:

Design and Deployment:

• Plan, analyze, and design enterprise-scale Microsoft cloud infrastructure solutions.
• Deploy and configure Azure resources, including Virtual Machines, Virtual Networks, and Storage Accounts.
• Implement best practices for high availability, scalability, and security.

Infrastructure Management:

• Maintain and optimize existing Azure environments.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure efficient resource utilization.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to manage on-premise and hybrid cloud systems.

Automation and DevOps:

• Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
• Streamline development and deployment processes for Azure applications.
• Manage CI/CD pipelines for Azure services.
• Knowledge and experience with Atlassian JIRA for agile deployment methodologies.

Security and Compliance:

• Implement security controls and adhere to compliance standards.
• Participate in disaster recovery planning and execution.
• Monitor and address security vulnerabilities.

Documentation and Collaboration:

• Maintain comprehensive documentation of infrastructure configurations, processes, and procedures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, architects, and network engineers.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Azure Certifications (e.g., AZ-104, AZ-303, AZ-500) preferred.
• Proficiency in Azure services, including Virtual Machines, Azure Active Directory, and Azure Networking.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, Github).
• Strong knowledge of IAM concepts
• Strong knowledge of Entra ID
• Strong understanding of networking concepts, security, and compliance.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements

• Mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer.
• Ability to use vison to read computer screen and read printed materials

Compensation and Benefits

• The base pay for this position ranges from $103,578 to $142,419 per year depending on the geographic market.
• This position provides quarterly sales compensation based on achievement to plan.
