As a Cloud Engineer for the Azure Platform Team (Team Titan) in the area of Engineering Platforms, which is part of the Tribe Tech4Engineering, you participate in shaping the future of our global Cloud transformation. You make a difference and real impact by driving the adoption of Cloud-Native Application Designs within Rabobank. As a team, you work together with the DevOps teams. Team Titan is one of the three Azure teams and focuses mainly on Compute services and the following Azure services:

  • Azure Container Apps
  • Azure Container Instance
  • Azure Container Registry
  • Azure Function App
  • Azure Webapp
  • Event Grid and Event Hub
  • Azure API Management
  • And more

Our mission is to provide a robust and secure Azure platform that empowers DevOps teams to innovate and deliver value efficiently. We work closely with these teams to lower their cognitive load and support their cloud journey.

As a Cloud Platform Engineer within the Area Engineering Platforms, you can help bring about this change by:

  • Developing, managing, and maintaining the Azure Platform for Rabobank
  • Building various security automation, designing solutions, and making a real difference at Rabobank by contributing to the long-term goals of Engineering Platforms
  • Undertaking diverse responsibilities and initiatives, with full autonomy
  • Growing your knowledge of the complete Azure Cloud technology stack (network, security, functions, containers, data, etc.) with a focus on storage
  • Driving automation by utilizing CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code
  • Ensuring that all services delivered are compliant according to the bank
  • Driving innovation with new technology
  • Helping DevOps teams in their journey to the Cloud
  • Helping DevOps teams lower their cognitive load
  • Delivering support and direction to DevOps teams
  • Sharing knowledge to increase competence within the DevOps teams
  • Participating in a standby shift that will rotate within the team

How do we work within our team:
Working together with an agile mindset is the way we work. Our team joins forces with other (Azure) teams within the Area Engineering Platforms to make all Cloud infrastructure and automation processes faster, more agile, and more secure. We provide a secure and easy way for DevOps teams within the bank to leverage the Azure Cloud. In addition, we have weekly contact with the DevOps teams to understand their challenges and share knowledge. We lower their cognitive load so teams can quickly and easily accelerate delivering value for their stakeholders. Rabobank is transitioning to a Cloud-first environment, which is providing a lot of fun challenges and opportunities.

We are looking for new colleagues who can prove they are (Azure) Platform Cloud Engineers with an insatiable curiosity in (Azure) Cloud Engineering, technology, innovation, and self-development on a medior/senior level. Process skills and capabilities:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with Agile Way of Working (Scrum & Kanban)
  • Minimum of 2 years in the DevOps way of working
  • Experience in incident response handling and processing
  • Experience in risk and mitigation processes
  • Ability to eliminate technical debt
  • Experience with security processes and compliance governance
  • Experience with On-demand Self-service
  • Ability to measure services and monitoring
  • Experience with loosely coupled architecture
  • Embrace the everything as code principle

Technical skills and capabilities:

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in a relevant direction (B ICT)
  • Substantive knowledge of (Azure) Cloud technologies & Cloud design patterns
  • Minimum of 2 Azure certifications (Solutions Architect and/or Azure Administrator and/or DevOps Engineer and/or Azure Security Technologies)
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with Azure development
  • Experience with at least one of the following programming/scripting languages: Bash and/or PowerShell
  • Experience with Azure DevOps practices, Git, and Yaml pipelines
  • CI/CD: Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery configuration, usage, and maintainability
  • Azure Resource Manager (ARM) or Azure Bicep
  • Knowledge and experience of Cloud-native development
  • Knowledge and experience with commonly used Azure resources like Azure Web App, SQL server, Azure Function App, App registration
  • Knowledge and experience of Azure Active Directory
  • Knowledge and experience of Azure policies
  • Knowledge and experience with commonly used Azure resources like Azure Web Apps
  • Skills to troubleshoot and fix issues in a running cloud application (highly preferred)
  • Azure Function Apps, Azure Logic Apps, Azure Service Bus, Azure API Management
  • Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Bastion, Azure Bot Service
  • Azure Container Apps, Azure Container Registry, Azure Event Grid/Hub

It is a plus if you also have:

  • Knowledge of Self-service API’s, event-driven architecture, and serverless architecture.
  • Knowledge and experience with Azure Networking concepts like VNET, Subnets, NSGs, and Private Endpoints
  • Knowledge of container technologies like Docker, Azure Container Apps, Azure Container Instance, Azure Container RegistryKnowledge and experience with programming to build a backend cloud application
