W Hotels does not recruit, we cast Talent. W Amsterdam, located at Spuistraat 175 is casting a B&F Manager. You will be joining the B&F (That’s what we call F&B at W) Team. Our B&F Team is responsible for the W Lounge, In Room Dining and Banqueting.
W Lounge is W’s reinterpretation of the traditional lobby. W Lounge is the perfect Amsterdam cocktail bar for everyone who is curious about everything that is ’new and next’ in the world of mixology. Guests will sip the night away while they listen to the sound of the moment, with views over the Royal Palace.

JOB DESCRIPTION

As B & F Manager you will be reporting to the Executive Assistant Manager and will play a vital role in the success of the B&F operation of W Amsterdam.
Leading the Food and Beverage team or B&F as we call it at W, I am responsible for W Living Room, In Room Dining, Mini Bar as well as Events in our Banqueting Room. In addition to this, we work closely with the Entourage Group as Management Company of the other F&B outlets.
My daily routine is never a routine. Coming in in the morning, I touch base with all Head of Departments checking reservations and bookings for the day, reviewing the previous day’s sales figures and reports as well as addressing any important issues that need to be dealt with ; such as Health and Safety, new menus, Departmental Managers Meetings and daily briefings.
After the hotel’s morning meeting, I focus on and for all of the following tasks; Dealing with commendations and complaints, meeting with suppliers and brand owners, communicating with the cost controller regarding month-to-date spend on purchases/new item quotes/par levels. In addition, financial reporting such as forecasting, profit and lost statements and budgeting. In the mean time I ensure, by walk rounds, that all service levels are up to date and that any required training is put in place.
I have an open management style and having one to one sessions with Head of Departments and talent several times a week is well received. I find it very crucial that all inter departmental communication is promoted and therefore I will always lead by example. As W is part of Marriott Internationa it is important that all talent and managers are aware of its guest and talent benefits, programs, Policies and Procedures; such as our Bonvoy Loyalty program and our Guest Satisfaction Survey.
In order to fulfil this role you have to be enthusiastic, adaptable, operational as well as strategic, organized, structured and have an overall positive outlook on life and business.

REQUIREMENTS

  • At least 3 years of experience as F&B Manager, Head of Department
  • Valid work permit for The Netherlands
  • Languages: Fluent level English. Dutch is appreciated.
  • Experience in similar Life style environment & concept
