Cuttlefish has a diverse client base developing bespoke websites and software to clients ranging from large PLCs, universities and councils through to local businesses and community groups. Our team brings together creative, like-minded individuals who all have a passion for design, development and all things tech.
Today we are looking to grow our team in order to meet the exciting project demands of our varied client base. We work across multiple sectors, but currently with particular coverage in the sport, education and local government areas.

SKILLS:

Essential:

• Experience with backend web development using HTML, JavaScript, PHP, SQL and Laravel
• Experience with Git and version control
• Strong time management ability
• Effective communication skills with the team and clients
• Desire to learn new skills and continually improve
• Strong problem solving skills

Bonus points for:

• Android & iOS Development using React Native
• Front-end technologies including CSS / SCSS
• Experience managing Linux servers
• Docker and containerisation technologies
• Google Cloud Platform
• Experience with project management tools such as Trello
• Experience with automated testing and quality-assurance
• Knowledge of SEO, optimisation, and accessibility

ROLE: BACK END DEVELOPER (MIDDLEWEIGHT)

Hours: Full time, 9:00 - 5:30pm Monday - Friday. Predominantly home-base but with a requirement to be based in our office (Loughborough) twice a week.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

We are looking for a self motivated Back End Developer to support the development of various projects such as our in-house CMS, websites, mobile apps and APIs. The ideal candidate will have proven programming ability, strong debugging skills, and will be eager to develop further. The key duties of the role include:

• Build, support, and maintain our websites, CMS platform and APIs built in PHP
• Build, support and maintain mobile applications built using React Native
• Be part of the entire project lifecycle including client update meetings
• Work with the rest of the Cuttlefish team to help plan, design, build and test software projects
