The world’s most popular audio streaming subscription service is looking for a Backend Engineer to join the band in a consultant assignment. The client has transformed music listening forever when launched in 2008.
Period: 2024-11-18 to 2025-12-31 (full-time), with a possibility of extension.

The Subscriptions Mission R&D team oversees the entire user journey with our client and ensures we engage with people in innovative ways, every step of the way. Our team grows our client´s audience by finding future listeners around the world and delivering the right value to them, at the right time. With research, product development, product design, engineering, and marketing all collaborating in one organization, we’re able to quickly create meaningful features and services for millions of people around the world, resulting in joyful, long-lasting relationships with our client.
We are hiring a Senior backend engineer to join the Headliner squad in the Activation, Retention, and Conversion Studio (ARC Studio). As a backend engineer, you will help us build and maintain the infrastructure responsible for driving users to sign up for the paid product in collaboration with other R&D teams, Marketing and Growth. The squad is uniquely positioned to play a key role in a new effort to strengthen our platform capabilities in this area to support the rapidly growing business needs of the product portfolio. We want to move towards a more user focused, contextual conversion experience that is less manually operated, and more consistent across channels.
We are looking for an engineer who shares our common curiosity about scalable distributed systems and continuous development. You will have the opportunity to collaborate closely with other engineers, engineer managers and product managers to expand and improve our capabilities in the conversion area.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Collaborate with our squad and key internal partners to determine how to design scalable backend systems, data models and APIs that run on Google Cloud Platform.
• Architect, develop and operate Java services that serve our users through our content platform which enables marketing operators and other internal squads to work efficiently.
• Be a technical leader, mentor and valued contributor in an autonomous, cross-functional agile squad, in close collaboration with other squads.
• Collaborate with other engineers and product managers to identify and solve challenging problems, to successfully scale our automation and platformization work to enable a more user-focussed conversion experience.
