WHAT TO PACK FOR THIS TRIP (QUALIFICATIONS)
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. 2+ years of experience as a Golang Developer with a focus on API integration and development.
- Understanding of RESTful API design principles and microservices architecture
- Experience in building and maintaining API gateways using tools like Kong, Apigee, or similar platforms.
- Knowledge of authentication and authorization mechanisms, including OAuth, JWT, and API key management.
- Engineering experience running high-load and high-uptime services in production
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-native technologies.
- Experience with developer portal development, API documentation tools, and developer engagement strategies.
- Problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of current trends and best practices in software development, including performance, accessibility, security, and usability
- Familiarity with modern CI/CD
- Experience with caching mechanism
- Past experience with the QA processes in software development
OPTIONAL CARRY-ON (PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS)
- Experience with other programming languages such as Python, Java, or JavaScript.
- Knowledge of message brokers and event-driven architectures (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ).

We are looking for a Backend Engineer with expertise in API integration to join our Platform & Integration Team, responsible for building robust APIs that integrate with third-party data providers such as payment gateways, FX rate providers, hotels, insurance services, and other external systems. Additionally, you will play a key role in building and maintaining our API gateway and developer portal to ensure seamless integration and exceptional developer experience. Our mission is to provide reliable integrations between our systems and those of our third-party suppliers and vendors, enabling efficient data exchange, streamlined workflows, and enhanced collaboration. WHAT YOUR JOURNEY WILL LOOK LIKE (RESPONSIBILITIES)
- Develop, and maintain scalable APIs using Golang that integrate with third-party data providers and external systems (e.g. payment gateways, FX rates, hotel booking systems, and insurance services)
- Collaborate with other teams to gather requirements and define API specifications for integration projects.
- Implement secure authentication and authorization mechanisms for API access, including OAuth, JWT, and API key management.
- Build and maintain an API gateway to manage API traffic, enforce security policies, and optimize API performance.
- Develop and enhance our developer portal to provide comprehensive API documentation, interactive API exploration, and developer support resources.
- Implement monitoring, logging, and analytics solutions to track API usage, performance metrics, and service health.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to automate deployment processes, set up CI/CD pipelines, and manage infrastructure as code.
- Stay updated on emerging trends, best practices, and technologies in API integration, microservices architecture, and cloud-native development.
- Make estimates for upcoming work, communicate technical solutions effectively, and share knowledge
- Work in a product-focused scrum team to deliver against a roadmap driven by a dedicated product owner
