Navitas is seeking to employ a Backend PHP Developer to join our North American team in Burnaby, BC.
The Backend PHP Developer is responsible to provide high quality customer services to all Navitas North America based businesses and divisions under the supervision of the Software Developer. Amongst other things, duties include developing web/services, documenting, and maintaining online services.

DESIRABLE SKILLS

• Experience in AWS or Azure
• Experience in administering Linux (Debian, Ubuntu) is desirable for this role
• General working knowledge of networks and servers
• Experience working in a distributed office environment, domestically or regionally

Essential Skills, Knowledge and Experience

• A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering or similar field
• 5+ years in a development role
• Expertise in PHP, RESTful, and MSSQL
• Proficient in RESTful API development
• Extensive experience in other Web Services standards and technologies (XML, SOAP, WSDL, JSON etc.)
• Experience in CMS (WordPress, Drupal)
• Experience in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery
• Working knowledge of React
• Working knowledge in Apache/Nginx
• Solid analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
• Working knowledge of Git
• Legal authorization to work in Canad

• Development, analysis, and testing of web applications and supporting services
• Integration and deployment of applications and tools
• Document and maintain a library of processes and guides
• Meet all SLA requirements through managing and supporting the team through Service Desk
• Support all existing applications and services
• Assist with all campus management systems and student portal(s) used by Navitas UP North America including, but not exclusive to, application client installation and configuration, user training, documentation, and troubleshooting
• Contribute to Navitas projects as required
• Perform other duties as assigned
