Salary: $50.00(T4) - $62.00(INC) per hour
Our multinational gaming client seeks a Background Vista Artist to join their Gaming studio. Our client is looking for a highly creative and motivated Background Vista Artist. The Background Vista Artist is responsible for interpreting visual, written and verbal directions. They will produce complex 3D and matte-painted elements to a high standard with a thorough understanding of perspective, lighting, colour and form. They are also expected to collaborate with other members of the dev team, such as art direction, design, modelling and lighting, to ensure the proposed ideas meet the gameplay and narrative requirements.
The Background Vista Artist must be able to create 3D-generated and matte-painted backgrounds that will match the product tone with various degrees of detail that fit within the production timelines.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years experience in video game production and or film production.
- Ability to create, and manipulate 3D and 2.5D elements to complement matte painted midgrounds and backgrounds.
- Expertise in visual composition and lighting design and Deep understanding of colour, tone and lighting.
- Deep understanding of composition and visual storytelling.
- Highly collaborative individual who values feedback and direction.
- UE5 knowledge is an asset.

The indicated pay range for this position is a good-faith estimate based on the qualifications necessary for the position, including experience, training, and other considerations permitted by law. Responsibilities:
- Create pre-visualized vista concept mockups to interpret art intention in the conceptual stage.
- Translate written and verbal directions into visual solutions.
- Generate skies, terrain and materials in various content creation software, sculpt and layout assets based on art direction and concepts.
- Work closely with art direction and design, ensuring concepts meet gameplay and visual expectations.
- Create 3D assets, digital matte paintings and image projection.
- Ability to overcome visual and technical challenges with multiple solutions.
- Work within established production deadlines.
