- Expertly handle the preparation of complex bakery items, including cake batters, pastry creams, lemon curd, and items requiring the straight dough method.
- Modify and enhance flavors, adjust existing recipes, and develop new offerings to meet customer preferences and dietary needs, including vegan and gluten-free options.
- Identify issues in recipes or the baking process and implement effective solutions to maintain product quality and consistency.
- Understand and execute banquet event orders (BEOs), ensuring all bakery items meet the specific requirements and timelines of each event.
- Maintain an organized and efficient baking environment, manage inventory using advanced FIFO techniques, and ensure proper labeling and organization for events and daily operations.
- Follow complex recipes independently, demonstrating thorough understanding and ability without the need for guidance.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least one year of professional baking experience.
- Proven proficiency in all tasks required of a Baker 1 position.
- Advanced knowledge of baking techniques, including the creation of pastry cream, lemon curd, and the use of the straight dough method.
- Ability to creatively adjust and develop recipes, particularly for dietary restrictions such as vegan and gluten-free options.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to fix baking errors effectively.
- Familiarity with banquet event orders and the specific requirements they entail.
