Description:

All Housekeepers, whether regularly rostered or ‘Bank’ are responsible in providing and maintaining cleaning and catering services as part of the Hotel Services team to office, patient and communal areas on the Southmead AWP site. Ensuring a clean, safe and supportive environment for staff and patients working towards their recovery.
You will work as part of a passionate and enthusiastic team putting service user care at the heart of everything they do. High standards of food / hygiene / linen services are provided by our Hotel Services Team and you will be part of this. As a ‘Bank’ Housekeeper, you will need to be flexible, helping colleagues to create a high standard of service and also to help create a culture of continuous improvement.
We require a friendly, positive thinking, organised and motivated individual to work as a Bank Housekeeper within our Hotel Services Team based at Southmead Hospital.
The post holder will be based at Southmead Hospital. The post holder will be required to work shifts between the hours of 07:30 - 13:30 / 16:00 -19:00, Mon-Fri including some weekends if required.
You should be highly motivated, reliable, and flexible also willing to work at short notice as there may be opportunities for extra hours.
Experience in cleaning duties and use of chemicals and equipment are essential as you will be working in a demanding environment. Catering and food service experience would be beneficial along with a passion to providing high standards of customer service.
Experience of working or volunteering in a mental health and learning disabilities is desirable. Also the ability to provide a positive approach and image, when working with our client group.

Cleaning in all areas to the agreed NHS specification (including but not limited to National Standards of Cleanliness, CQC outcomes and PLACE, and in line with local schedules. Areas will include but not be limited to service user bedrooms, communal areas, sanitary areas, clinic rooms, kitchens, offices, corridors. To replenish stocks of disposable items, i.e.: paper hand towels, soap. Working in accordance with all relevant Health and safety procedures at all times e.g. COSHH, Manual Handling
Completion of cleaning records signing off areas completed and noting areas those areas that are inaccessible.
Highlighting to the Nurse in Charge or Hotel Service Supervisor areas of concern e.g. on-going issues around access
Adhering to all aspects of Infection Control to ensure the potential for spread of infection is minimised.
Working in accordance with the National Colour Coding guidance
Carrying out termination cleans in line with Trust policy
Carrying out isolation cleaning in line with Trust policy
Completing and documenting a scheduled deep cleaning programme for the specified area
Collection and storage of waste from locations according to the Hospital waste disposal policy.
Complete other cleaning duties as required. This will include items such as wheelchairs, commodes, trolleys, furniture/fittings, internal glass and wall washing.
Report all sightings of pests to the Hotel Services Office.
Change soiled screen, cubicle and window curtains as required under the direction of the Hotel Services Supervisor.
Receive and store clean laundry/linen. Remove full soiled linen bags to the collection point. Replace linen bags as required.
Operation of a range of cleaning equipment including floor cleaning equipment, steam cleaners etc ensuring their safe and effective use
Assessing condition of equipment and reporting defects.
