Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Barnet Hospital Therapy team, in our Respiratory Surgery and Critical Care Therapy service.
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who demonstrates a flexible approach to their work with good organisational skills, and who is motivated to provide excellent care for our patients and to help them achieve their functional goals. Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team are essential for this position.
The successful applicant will be working with patients who are admitted with respiratory conditions, requiring surgery and those who are taking part in rehabilitation on the intensive care unit.
You will work closely with experienced physiotherapists and occupational therapists to support and assist patients with their rehabilitation programme and to enable them to be discharged safely from hospital.
The Support Worker role involves assisting patients to practice their self-care tasks such as washing/dressing, toileting, activities of daily living, mobility and exercise programmes. Supporting general administrative duties would also be an essential part of this role.
The successful applicant will be joining an experienced multidisciplinary therapy team of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Dietitians and Therapy Support Workers, supported by a Clinical Lead Therapist. Therapies provide a 7-day therapy service, and any successful applicant will be expected to participate in the rota.
