Band 4 Haematology/Transfusion Associate Practitioner

We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual to join our friendly support team in the Haematology/Transfusion Department at the Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital and Burnley General Teaching Hospital.
The duties are to perform technical and scientific processes within the Haematology/Transfusion discipline to support the BMS staff. This involves: receipt/recording of samples (blood transfusion), performing sample analysis by utilising the departments automated analysers, troubleshooting and maintenance of analysis, running quality controls processes, supporting the BMS staff to aid the diagnosis of haematological disorders and transfusion related complications, while following the department’s written procedures (SOP’s).

Full training will be provided but any previous laboratory experience will be an advantage.
The post is full time (37.5h/w) and a flexible working approach will be required. The successful candidates will be required to work to a roster pattern which includes a mixture of days, evenings, nights, weekends and Bank Holidays.
