Description:

If you are a resilient, compassionate and recovery focused support worker, who has a good understanding of substance misuse, and has the ability to work flexibly in a challenging environment, this may be the role for you.
HMP Eastwood Park is female prison housing up to 440 women who are both sentenced and remanded. The healthcare service is formed through a consortium of agencies, AWP works alongside the main contractor Practice Plus Group.
Working as part of the substance misuse psychosocial team you will have the opportunity to work alongside an experienced multi-disciplinary team, that is supportive and motivated to deliver outstanding care. We strive to use the expertise and resources within our team, organisation, and partnerships, to deliver high quality services that are safe and focused on people’s recovery. All our staff are pivotal in the quality of care we provide and we are committed to enabling them to develop both professional and personally.
Successful candidates will have previously completed, or be committed to completing, the care certificate, or equivalent qualification.
Applicants will be required to work 30 hours a week, primarily Monday to Friday, with the additions of some Saturday shifts.
The successful candidate will be required to obtain prison security clearance in addition to DBS and reference checks.
We are AWP (Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust) a diverse organisation with over 5,000 dedicated staff providing inpatient and community-based mental health care. We provide services from a range of locations to approximately 1.8 million people living in Bath and North East Somerset (B&NES), Bristol, North Somerset, South Gloucestershire, Swindon, across the county of Wiltshire and in parts of Dorset. Our outstanding people promote mental health and wellbeing. The expertise and resources within AWP are dedicated to a person-centred approach for those who use our services and for all employees. We recognise that happy and fulfilled employees give better care.
At AWP we actively encourage applicants from all backgrounds; we are particularly keen to encourage applications from people from Black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds, those with disabilities and from the LGBTQ+ community. We want people to bring their unique blend of experiences, backgrounds, perspectives and knowledge to AWP, as diversity makes us stronger.
Provide a defined drug and alcohol service to an allocated caseload of service users, having responsibility for the assessment of needs, the planning and implementation of treatment and care to meet those needs as agreed in line with personal recovery goals.
Liaise as appropriate with other members of the multidisciplinary team and other agencies involved in the care of individual service users.
The role will also require undertaking and delivering defined activities and interventions for a caseload of identified service users, in accordance with the agreed personal recovery plan. This maybe either on a one to one basis, or as part of a group activity
