Band 6 Elective Caesarean Section Midwife

We are looking for a Band 6 midwife to work in the Maternity theatre team, to look after women and birthing partners on the Elective Caesarean section pathway. The main responsibilities for this role will be to provide women and babies with high quality, safe midwifery care during operative childbirth. The care will be evidence based and holistic in meeting womens needs in the theatre setting. As a senior midwife, you will act as an advocate for the woman and birthing partner.
You will be fully supportive of theatre etiquette and will be required to communicate effectively within an multidisciplinary team. You will be expected to manage a workload and support with the operational aspects of patient flow to ensure that theatre lists are kept to time. You will have excellent documentation skills and be able to maintain these to NMC standards. You will be required to escalate any safety concerns to the band 7 Coordinating Midwife or Matron.
