Description:

A unique opportunity has arisen for an experienced nurse to join the team in the Early Pregnancy & Gynaecology Ambulatory Unit at Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow. The unit assess and treat women experiencing complications such as pain, bleeding and severe sickness in early pregnancy and those with acute Gynaecological problems.
This is an outpatient clinic role with the clinic currently operating Monday to Friday.
We are seeking to appoint an exceptional individual who is able to provide direct patient care & administrative skills. You will need to have excellent communication skills and be able to work collaboratively with the multi disciplinary team. The role is challenging and fast paced and requires strong clinical skills and a person with excellent, empathetic communication skills who would like to work with patients who are often experiencing anxiety and distress.
The position is open to a nurse or midwife, with Gynaecology knowledge and background an advantage as you will provide cover to the Colposcopy and Hysteroscopy Service as well as Pregnancy Choices service as required.
The post is a senior nursing position within the Women’s Health Unit, primarily based within the Early Pregnancy Unit and Emergency Gynaecology Unit (GAMBU) with requirement to support the Colposcopy and Hysteroscopy services and Pregnancy Choices Service according to activity levels and staffing needs.
As a senior nurse you will be expected to review and assess patients independently and implement care plans according to current Trust policies and guidelines and refer onwards to the medical team as required collaborating with them to provide timely and compassionate care to patients under the care of the unit. You will guide and lead junior staff and other members and provide mentorship to students on our unit.
You will ensure the professional standards relating to the NMC code of professional conduct are adhered to at all times and work closely with patients and their families to ensure individualised patient centred care is provided including treating all patients/families being treated with dignity and respect.
Ensure that documentation is completed to the highest standard and that this standard is maintained. Participate in the ongoing development of the unit and open to continual career development
