Description:
This is an excellent opportunity for a clinical or counselling psychologist with an enthusiasm for working with this client group to join a busy community CAMHS Eating Disorders team, which includes an intensive treatment service. The primary role will be assessment and therapy work using Family Therapy for Eating Disorders and CBT for Eating Disorders principles, and training is available in both these models. We are a multidisciplinary team, and we work closely with partner agencies. There will also be opportunities to be involved in the supervision of junior staff, service evaluation and development.
This is an ideal opportunity for a clinical or counselling psychologist with experience of working in eating disorders or child and adolescent mental health, and who wishes to develop more specialist skills.
We are developing our service for young people who have autism alongside their eating disorders, and also the intensive treatment part of our service, and would welcome applications from psychologists with skills in these areas.
We welcome applications from psychologists qualifying this year, and we can provide all the necessary supervision and support needed for newly qualified psychologists.
Providing Family Therapy for Eating Disorders and CBT for Eating Disorders to children and young people with eating disorders as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Providing psychological therapy focused on common psychological maintaining factors for eating disorders, such as anxiety, mood problems, perfectionism, poor self-esteem, and emotion regulation difficulties.
Providing consultation and supervision to the team as appropriate.
