Description:

This is an exciting opportunity to join our workforce as a Emergency Nurse Practitioner working in our Emergency Department in Eastbourne. Should the successful candidate not meet the competences for the position, the position will be offered as an Annex U working towards a Band 7 with competences set with the support of the Head of Nursing.
We have an established team who are dedicated and driven to deliver exceptional care in minor injuries and illness. The team are supported by a dedicated Head of Nursing and Consultant body who are invested in continual development of the team and service.
The Department has recently undergone extensive estates work and now has a newly opened dedicated ENP suite within the Treatment Centre. All of which improves both patient experience and working environment for our fantastic team. The autonomy of the team is ever expanding and the division has a huge focus on senior nurse led services.
The successful applicant will be expected to function effectively under pressure without compromising essential standards of care and professionalism. They must have advanced clinical expertise and be willing to lead in research and audit projects. In return we will offer you excellent managerial support and commitment to your personal professional development. We have regular clinical supervision and protected teaching time.
To operate autonomously, assess, diagnose, treat and discharge patients within scope of practice. (Emergency Care Practitioner).
Post holder will refer patients to specialist clinical teams when appropriate.
To be responsible for the management and leadership of the Unit on a daily basis.
To carry out nursing procedures
Post holder will be required to provide clinical leadership and mentorship to other staff and students. Manage staff, including appraisal, rotas, recruitment and selection.
Team working is an integral part of the Department with all staff enabled & empowered to make a real difference for their patients. There is a dedicated interest in staff health & well-being by the senior leadership team in the Emergency Department. Friends & family feedback for the service is sustained at an outstanding 95% recommendation rate by our patients & relatives.

The successful candidates must have a. minimum of 5yrs post-qualification experience with substantive experience at Band 6 in an Emergency Department setting.
