Description:
North Somerset CAMHS is a well-established multi-disciplinary team, which is, continuing to grow due to new investment.
We are currently seeking an energetic, experienced and committed Family Therapist to join our dedicated team of therapists. Working alongside an established team of experienced practitioners you will be part of a multidisciplinary service which is committed to delivering specialist interventions alongside Core CAMHS..
We offer flexible working patterns and have the benefit of working across 2 sites in Weston-super-Mare and Clevedon.
The postholder will be responsible for proactively engaging families and providing initial assessments, family systemic assessments, therapy and consultations to referred children, young people and families as a member of the multi-disciplinary team within the North Somerset CAMHS Team.
The postholder will be a member of the multi-disciplinary team within the CAMHS Team responsible for providing choice and partnership appointments, care co-ordination, specialist family systemic assessments and interventions, and consultations to other professionals regarding referred children, young people and families
The post holder may be required to work within the Eating Disorders Team
The post holder will attend the team and family therapy team meetings, liaise with other professionals in the family system, write reports, contribute to case formulations and develop these with families, and develop treatment planning for a small number of complex hard-to-engage cases. .
The postholder will ensure families receive interventions according to NICE guidance and local pathways of care. With these being aligned to i-thrive and CYP IAPT principles.
The post holder will be expected to hold a case load, using resources creatively and flexibly to provide an excellent therapy for children, young people and families; uniquely tailoring therapeutic interventions to meet the needs of service users. This may include supporting Young People with Eating Disorders

To participate fully in the work of CAMHS, as well as participating in the referral and assessment process (Choice & Partnership Approach/i-thrive approach).
To deliver systemic family interventions as part of Multidisciplinary Team
To liaise and work effectively with professionals within partnership agencies.
To ensure that appropriate levels of clinical supervision are maintained and that clinical governance is of an excellent standard.
To work within all latest relevant clinical frameworks and guidelines including (but not limited to) NICE, Future in Mind, Eating Disorders Commissioning Guide etc.
To exercise responsibility for the governance of systemic practice through contributing to the development of policy and procedures guiding its application in a local CAMHS setting.
To apply a sound knowledge of safeguarding issues and child development to work with young people and families referred to CAMHS and identify when to refer to other agencies.
To observe the professional Code of Conduct and Ethics as laid down by the Association of Family Therapy and UKCP.
To maintain adequate records and case notes in accordance with Trust Policy and professional guidelines.
To monitor and evaluate progress through responding effectively to feedback from members of the client and professional system. This will include the use of appropriate CYP IAPT measures.
To hold an appropriate case load
