Description:

Come Join Our Team!
Are you keen to support our NHS workforce to develop and grow? Have you got a passion for education and training development? Would you like to find out more about the range of roles and educational opportunities for Psychological Professions in the NHS? If so, come join our team!
This is an exciting time to join the Corporate Psychology team in our Trust. We are involved in a range of transformational workforce training and education projects, both internal to the Trust and Region wide. And we need your talents…
You will support, co-ordinate and monitor the Educational, Clinical Practice Placements and Internships programmes for Psychological Professionals within Chief Psychologist’s portfolio. Building on the achievements of our previous postholders, these two permanent roles will have a strong project management, support, and delivery focus linked to expanding training opportunities and new roles in our diverse range of Psychological Professions. Your expert Psychological Professionals background will enable you to work with a range of stakeholders who are all committed to support the access to high quality training opportunities in the NHS which will further grow and retain our Psychological Professions workforce.
This position will be primarily remote working with pre-planned attendance at Trust sites as required on a weekly basis.
You will provide an effective and comprehensive support to the Chief Psychologist and senior Psychological Professions leads responsible for Workforce Transformation Projects as appropriate. And you will be supported to work autonomously, initiating action on behalf of the Chief Psychologist linked to growing our Practice Placements and Training Opportunities for Psychological Professionals across our Birmingham & Solihull services. You main duties will be: -
To ensure all undergraduate/pre-registration psychological professions students experience a high-quality practice – learning environment through a robust and fully integrated partnership between the Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), Service Providers (BSMHFT) and NHSE-Workforce Training & Education Division (formerly known as Health Education England).
To ensure assessors and supervisors of student psychologists and trainee psychological professionals including associates/degree apprentices receive robust support and education within the clinical environments they are placed.
To actively influence staff in the development of a “student friendly culture” encouraging potential healthcare recruits and subsequently supporting the local recruitment and retention group and monitor quality of placements.
To assist in the management of Psychological Professionals Apprenticeships and others on pre-registration Psychological Professions training programmes.
Welcome to Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust. Our 4000 clinical and support staff help us to improve mental health wellbeing and meet the needs of the 70,000 people we serve each year. We provide a range of mental healthcare services across Birmingham and Solihull, as well as specialised services nationally. We also offer medical, nursing and psychology training and are proud of our international reputation for both research and innovation.
Our population is culturally diverse, characterised in places by high levels of deprivation which create an increasing demand for our services and a necessity for us to make sure everyone can access the help they need. We are a team of compassionate, inclusive and committed people working together to provide excellent care to support our community. If you are looking for a place to belong, where you can make a real difference to people’s lives, join our team where our warm welcome is waiting for you.
