This post is based in the Eating Disorder Home Treatment Team which is dedicated to providing high quality, intensive at home care and support for young people who are at risk of an admission to hospital due to their eating disorder.
The team work across Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire. The team works from 8am-8pm 7 days a week. Applicants must have a driving license, access to a car and be willing to travel.
This role is an ideal first step into a senior role. You will be a registered professional with experience of working with young people with Eating Disorders, and keen to move into a more senior post providing line supervision of junior staff and supporting with ongoing service development.
There will be an expectation to cover some weekends (this would not exceed more than one in 4 weeks) & some evenings. We do our utmost to work with our staff to meet their needs and the needs of our service users.
This is a home treatment team covering a large patch (BNSSG), for this reason a car and license are crucial for the role.
Senior Mental Health Practitioners (Senior MHP) will work within a team of skilled professionals including ; SMPs (B7), Mental Health Practitioners (B6) & Support Workers (B4) to provide intensive Eating Disorder interventions to young people and families in the home environment. The aim of the team is to support CYP to recover in their home environment and empower parents & carers to support their CYP to eat at home. We support CYP with a range of Eating Disorder diagnosis and co-morbidities. Support will always be person-cantered & family based.
Senior MHPs co-ordinate EDHTT input, provide guidance and support to the team and hold excellent working relationships and communication with the Locality CAMHS Teams including CAMHS Case Co-ordinators.
This role will include operational and clinical leadership responsibilities including but not limited to: involvement in recruitment, job planning, rotas, clinical practice, supervision, contributing to service development, assisting in development of clinical care pathways, MDT meetings, clinical audit and delivering training to both CAMHS and Acute staff.
Senior MHPs provide excellent clinical supervision and developmental support to B6 & B4 colleagues in the team, and support with management cover in absence of the Team Manager.

You will be based within the Eating Disorders Community team and will be based Bristol Perry Road but will be covering Bristol, South Glos & North Somerset. In addition to being connected to and managed by the wider CAMHS Eating Disorder Service.

The role requires some weekend working and contribution to an 8am - 8pm service.
